RENFREW COUNTY — Each year, the Canadian Mental Health Association campaigns for mental health awareness via ‘Mental Health Week.’ During this time, Canadians are invited to speak out about their mental health, and to participate in activities within their community that help better the mental health of others and to erase the stigma surrounding mental illnesses. MHW is taking place from May 6 to 12. We are encouraging organizations and individuals to get involved.

As the lead agency for Children’s Mental Health in Renfrew County, the Phoenix Centre will be organizing a digital campaign as well as online events calendar for the week.. They will also be looking to partner with local businesses and organizations to raise awareness, organize events, or sponsor events for the week. For an updated Mental Health Week Events Calendar, please visit the Facebook Event Page “ Mental Health Week- Renfrew County.”

During Mental Health Week, participants are invited to also visit www.mentalhealthweek.ca for social media resources and other downloadable tools. Community members are invited to contact us with any events they’d like added to our local calendar. The Phoenix Centre for Children and Families looks forward to working alongside businesses and organizations across the county to raise awareness about mental health issues as well as promoting positive mental health practices.
