Domestic Violence
Arnprior and Renfrew officers investigated 10 domestic disputes during the past week. No criminal offences were alleged. The Women’s Sexual Assault Centre of Renfrew County is also available 24/7 for information and support at 1-800-663-3060. . You could also attend the emergency department of any hospital in Renfrew County and ask to speak to a member of the Assault Response Team. In emergencies call 9-1-1.
Break and Enter
A shed on Allan Drive in Arnprior was entered on Friday, June 1 at approximately 3 .am. The male suspect was seen by a neighbour removing a lawn mower. The lawn mower was left in the victim’s yard when the suspect ran away. He was described as a white male, 35 years of age with black hair and a skinny build. PC Kyle Brown is investigating.
Thefts
During the past week OPP officers have investigated 2 thefts of gas from gas stations, a case of theft of taxi services when the customer ran away, a stolen lawn fertilizer, a stolen bank card, and a stolen or missing wallet.
Impaired Drivers
On Thursday, May 31 at approximately 10:40 pm a motor vehicle was stopped at a RIDE spot check on Campbell Drive in McNab Braeside Township. The male driver had been drinking and failed a roadside alcohol screening test. Following further breath tests at the detachment Matthew Mulvihill, aged 43 of Arnprior, was charged with driving over 80mgs. He was released on a promise to appear in court in Renfrew on Wednesday, July 4. PC Derek Andrechek led the investigation.
On Friday, June 1 at approximately 6:08 .pm., officers responded to a traffic complaint of a possible impaired driver on Waba Road in McNab Braeside Township. The suspect vehicle was observed by police on Burnstown Road near the village of Burnstown. The vehicle was being driven in an erratic fashion and was stopped by the officer. The female driver had been drinking and failed a roadside alcohol screening test. After further breath tests at the detachment the female was charged. Stacia Prince, aged 34 of Renfrew, was charged with impaired driving and driving over 80mgs. She was released on a promise to appear in court in Renfrew on Wednesday, June 20. Mischief
Officers are investigating spray painting on playground equipment outside Cobden Day Care at the Cobden Public School property that happened overnight on May 28. There is a suspect.
Several youths were seen throwing rocks on William Street in Arnprior, breaking car windows and at least 1 home window. The mischief occurred on Sunday, June 3 at approximately 2:25 a.m. The youths were gone when police arrived and the investigation is continuing.
Damage to a home and two vehicles consistent with a pellet gun being used was observed by police on Sunday, June 3. The damage occurred sometime between May 14 and June 2 at the property on Goshen Road in McNab Braeside Township. There is no suspect at this time.
Stunt Driving Charge
A 19-year-old male is facing a stunt driving charge after excessive speeding on Highway 17 recently. On Monday May 28 at 5:25 am PC Jason Golds stopped a motor vehicle travelling in excess of 50 km/hr above the posted 90km/hr limit. The vehicle was first observed travelling westbound on Highway 17 east of Foresters Falls Road. As a result of the investigation Zachary Paulin, aged 19 of Horton Township, was issued a summons to appear in court for the offence. The vehicle he was driving was impounded for 7 days and his licence was suspended for 7 days.
