The incident occurred in March in Renfrew, and was reported to the OPP in April. Detective Constable Wendy Saunders led the investigation and as a result arrested and charged the two male suspects.

Liam Coyne, aged 18 of Renfrew, and Logan O’Brien, aged 18 of Ottawa, are each charged with attempting to procure a person under the age of 18 to provide sexual services. Mr. O’Brien is also charged with one count of breach of a probation order. The accused men were released on an undertaking with conditions and a promise to appear in court in Renfrew on Wednesday, May 30.

Human trafficking is a form of modern-day slavery in which traffickers use force, fraud, or coercion to control victims for the purpose of engaging in commercial sex acts or labor services against his/her will. If you, or someone you know is being exploited contact your local police service or call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or call 911.
