The Renfrew Detachment of OPP investigated 237 calls for service from Monday, February 4, to Sunday, February 10.

Domestic Violence

Arnprior and Renfrew officers investigated 13 domestic disputes during the past week. One female was charged with assault with a weapon. One male was charged with assault and uttering threats. One female was charged with assault with a weapon, mischief and utter threats.  If you or someone you know is living in or involved in an abusive relationship help is available. Contact Bernadette McCann House 24/7 for support, advice or the safety of a shelter at 1-800-267-4930. The Women’s Sexual Assault Centre of Renfrew County is also available 24/7 for information and support at 1-800-663-3060.  You could also attend the emergency department of any hospital in Renfrew County and ask to speak to a member of the Assault Response Team. Victim Services of Renfrew County is also available to provide emotional and practical assistance to people who have experienced domestic violence. They can be reached at 613-649-2852 or toll free at 1-877-568-5730. In emergencies call 9-1-1.

Break and Enter

Const. Andrechek is investigating a break and enter to a residence on Carss Street in Arnprior. The residence owner arrived home on Tuesday, Feb. 5 to find a male in his residence. The male suspect fled the residence on foot. The investigation is continuing.

 PC Cassidy is investigating a break and enter to a residence on June Street in Renfrew. This incident was reported on Wednesday, Feb. 6. The suspect gained entrance by forcing open a door. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Renfrew OPP.

Thefts

On Tuesday, February 5, a theft from a vehicle in Arnprior, was reported to the Renfrew OPP. Officers attended and a wallet was reported stolen from the vehicle. The Renfrew OPP would like to remind the public to keep their vehicles locked and valuables out of site.

Impaired Driver

On Sunday, February 10, officers from the Renfrew OPP Detachment attended Elgin Street West, Arnprior for a reported possible impaired driver. As a result of the investigation 22-year-old, Gregory Burke, of Ottawa. has been charged with impaired driving and operating a motor vehicle with over 80mg of alcohol. He will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on Wednesday, March 6. PC Dube led the investigation.

Fraud

The Renfrew OPP Detachment received one call for possible stolen banking and credit card information. The Renfrew OPP would like to remind the public to be cautious before releasing personal information and contact your banking institution with any concerns.

Stolen Vehicle

On Tuesday, February 5, officers from the Renfrew OPP were dispatched to a stolen vehicle incident in the Town of Arnprior. A vehicle was taken from the residence and later located in the Petawawa. As a result of the investigation 20-year-old Colton Clark of Arnprior has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime and fail to comply with probation order. He was held for a bail hearing.

Mischief

On Monday, Feb. 4, officers responded to a mischief occurrence at a location on Usborne Street in the Township of McNab-Braeside. A garden shed at the location had been tampered with. PC Jean-Louis is investigating the occurrence.

Traffic Enforcement

On Tuesday, Feb. 5, officers were conducting traffic enforcement on Stay Court Drive in the Town of Arnprior. As a result of a traffic stop 38-year-old Stuart Adrain was issued a summons for driving while under suspension and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on Friday, March 15.

On Thursday, Feb. 7, officers were conducting traffic enforcement on McLean Avenue in the Town of Arnprior. As a result of a traffic stop, 50-year-old Shawn Hamilton, of Arnprior, was issued a summons for driving while under suspension and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on Friday, March 15.
