The Renfrew Detachment of the OPP investigated 216 calls for service between Monday, March 4 and Sunday, March 10.

Domestic Violence

Arnprior and Renfrew officers investigated 8 domestic disputes during the past week.

• One male was charged with, uttering threats, mischief, unlawfully in a dwelling, overcome resistance by attempting to choke, suffocate or strangle and two counts of assault,

• One male was charged with, assault,

• One female was charged with, assault.

 Drug Charges

On Friday, March 8, acting on information of a male in possession of a controlled substance officers with the Renfrew Detachment, supported by members of the Community Street Crime Unit, located the vehicle the male was travelling in and conducted a traffic stop. As a result of the investigation Timothy Bourque, 35 years old of Arnprior, has been charged with possession of a schedule one substance. The accused was released on a promise to appear and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on Wednesday, April 17. 

On the same date, officers with the Renfrew Detachment responded to an unwanted person call in the Town of Renfrew. As a result of the investigation, David Page, 46 years old of Renfrew, has been charged with possession of a schedule one substance. The accused was issued an appearance notice and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, in Renfrew on Wednesday, April 3.

Traffic Enforcement

On Saturday, March 9, an officer was conducting traffic enforcement on Highway 60 in the Township of Admaston/Bromley. As a result of the traffic stop, Corey Leight, 24 years old of Renfrew, was issued a summons for race a motor vehicle excessive speed. The accused will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on Friday, May 10.

Impaired Driving

On Tuesday, March 5, officers with the Renfrew Detachment responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 17 east of White Lake Road. As a result of the investigation Kyle Lortie, 28 years old of Arnprior, has been charged with impaired driving and driving with over 80mg.
