The Renfrew Detachment of the OPP investigated 297 calls for service.

Domestic Violence

Arnprior and Renfrew officers investigated 17 domestic disputes during the past week.

One male was charged with uttering threats; one male was charged with, disobey court order, two counts of criminal harassment, two counts of fail to comply with recognizance and two counts of fail to comply with probation order; one male was charged with criminal harassment, fail to comply with recognizance and fail to comply with probation order; one male was charged with assault.

Assault

On Tuesday, May 7, officers with the Renfrew OPP responded to an assault call in the Town of Arnprior. As a result of the investigation, Jaclyn Lapierre, 28-years-old of Arnprior, has been charged with assault, mischief and assault with a weapon.

Break and Enter

On Tuesday, May 7, officers responded to a break and enter call on Astrolabe Road, in Whitewater Township. The investigation is continuing anyone with information is asked to contact the Renfrew OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

On Sunday, May 12, officers responded to a break and enter call on Edward Street South, in the Town of Arnprior. The investigation is continuing anyone with information is asked to contact the Renfrew OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

Drug Offences

On Monday, May 6, acting on information of persons in possession of a controlled substance members of the Community Street Crime Unit, located the vehicle the persons were travelling in and conducted a traffic stop. As a result of the investigation Tyler Moore, 37 years old of Renfrew, has been charged with fail to comply with probation order; possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking suspected to be cocaine, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000.00, possession of a schedule one substance suspected to be methamphetamine and possession of illicit cannabis.

Further Marissa Schoenfeldt, 31 years old of Renfrew, has been charged with three counts of fail to comply with probation, three counts of fail to comply with recognizance, possession of illicit cannabis, possession of a schedule one substance suspected to be methamphetamine, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000.00 and possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking, suspected to be cocaine.

On May Wednesday, May 8, officers with the Renfrew OPP, supported by the Community Street Crime Unit, responded to a fire call in McNab/Braeside Township. Officers were advised the fire department was already on scene and there was a possible drug grow at the location. As a result of the investigation, Trevor Burnette, 36 years old of McNab/Braeside Township and Joelle Desjardins, 31 years old of McNab/Braeside Township, have each been charged with cultivate, propagate or harvest more than four cannabis plants. They were released on a promise to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on Wednesday, June 19.

On Saturday, May 11, officers with the Renfrew Detachment were conducting a R.I.D.E (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) check in the Town of Arnprior. As a result of an investigation, Ron Christie, 49 years old of Spencerville has been charged with traffic in schedule one substance suspected to be methamphetamines and possession of a schedule one substance suspected to be cocaine. He was released on an appearance notice to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on Wednesday, June 5.  

Further Ronald Haybecker, 30 years old of Arnprior, has been charged with traffic in schedule one substance suspected to be methamphetamine. He was released on an appearance notice to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on Wednesday, June 19.

Impaired Driving

On Thursday, May 9, officers from the Renfrew OPP Detachment were conducting traffic enforcement on Highway 17 in Horton Township. As a result of a traffic stop Crystal Plain, 25 years old of Horton Township, has been charged with impaired driving and operating a motor vehicle with over 80mg of alcohol. She will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on Wednesday, May 22.

Theft

On Thursday, May 9, officers with the Renfrew OPP responded to a theft call at a business in the Town of Renfrew. As a result of the investigation Lynne Dyer, 43 years old of the Town of Renfrew, has been charged with theft under $5,000. She was released on a promise to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on Wednesday, June 5.

Threats

On Monday, May 6, officers with the Renfrew OPP responded to a threats call in Greater Madawaska Township. As a result of the investigation Christopher McCanna-Wright, 29 years old of Greater Madawaska Township, has been charged with fail to comply with probation order and three counts of utter threats to cause bodily harm or death.
