(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated 292 calls for service.

Domestic Violence

Arnprior and Renfrew officers investigated 10 domestic disputes during the past week.

• One male was charged with assault and assault with a weapon,

• One male was charged with assault, mischief and two counts of fail to comply with probation order.

If you or someone you know is living in or involved in an abusive relationship help is available. Contact Bernadette McCann House 24/7 for support, advice or the safety of a shelter at 1-800-267-4930. The Women’s Sexual Assault Centre of Renfrew County is also available 24/7 for information and support at 1-800-663-3060. You could also attend the emergency department of any hospital in Renfrew County and ask to speak to a member of the Assault Response Team. Victim Services of Renfrew County is also available to provide emotional and practical assistance to people who have experienced domestic violence. They can be reached at 613-649-2852 or toll free at 1-877-568-5730. In emergencies call 9-1-1.

Harassment

• On May 18, 2019 officers with the Renfrew OPP responded to a harassment call in the Town of Renfrew. As a result of the investigation, Jennifer LONGTIN, 34 years old of Renfrew has been charged with criminal harassment. She was released on a promise to appear at the Ontario court of Justice in Renfrew, on June 19, 2019.

Impaired Driving

• On May 15, 2019 officers from the Renfrew OPP Detachment responded to a traffic complaint in McNab/Braeside Township. As a result of a traffic stop David ROWAT, 54 years old, of Whitewater Township has been charged with impaired driving and operating a motor vehicle with over 80mg of alcohol. He was released on a promise to appear and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on June 5, 2019.

• On May 18, 2019 an officer from the Renfrew OPP Detachment was conducting traffic enforcement in the Town of Renfrew. As a result of a traffic stop Tricia FRIDGEN, 42 years old, of Admaston-Bromley Township has been charged with impaired driving and operating a motor vehicle with over 80mg of alcohol. She was released on a promise to appear and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on June 5, 2019.

Traffic Enforcement

• On May 16, 2019 an officer with the Renfrew OPP was conducting traffic enforcement on Highway Sixty, in Horton Township. As a result of a traffic stop Jessica LAMBERT, 25 years old Whitewater Township was issued a summons for race a motor vehicle, excessive speed and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on June 21, 2019.

• On May 17, 2019 an officer with the Renfrew OPP responded to a traffic complaint on Highway Seventeen in Horton Township. As a result of a traffic stop Ryan SONIER, 22 years old was issued a summons for race a motor vehicle, excessive speed and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on June 21, 2019.

• On May 18, 2019 officers with the Renfrew OPP were conducting traffic enforcement on Highway Seventeen, in Horton Township. As a result of a traffic stop Joseph SARAC, 33 years old of Ottawa was issued a summons for race a motor vehicle, excessive speed and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on June 21, 2019.
