(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated 304 calls for service.

Domestic Violence

Arnprior and Renfrew officers investigated 9 domestic disputes during the past week.

• One accused was charged with two counts of assault,

• One accused was charged with assault and three counts of careless storage of firearm,

• One accused was charged with two counts of breach of recognizance and two counts of fail to comply with recognizance,

• One accused was charged with mischief, assault a peace officer and criminal harassment.

Assault

• On June 7, 2019 officers with the Renfrew OPP responded to an assault call in the Township of Greater Madawaska. As a result of the investigation, Adam HOMER, 39 years old of Ottawa has been charged with assault. The accused was released on a promise to appear at the Ontario court of Justice in Renfrew, on July 3, 2019.

Impaired Driving

• On June 09, 2019 officers from the Renfrew OPP Detachment were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E) check in the Town of Arnprior. As a result of a traffic stop Roddy GILKS, 50 years old, of Ottawa has been charged with impaired driving and operating a motor vehicle with over 80mg of alcohol. The accused was released on a promise to appear and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on July 3, 2019,

Traffic Enforcement

• On June 3, 2019 an officer with the Renfrew OPP was conducting traffic enforcement on Highway 17, in Horton Township. As a result of a traffic stop Troy HEIN, 49 years old of Arnprior was issued a summons for race a motor vehicle, excessive speed and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on July 19, 2019,

• On June 4, 2019 an officer with the Renfrew OPP was conducting traffic enforcement on Highway 17, in Horton Township. As a result of a traffic stop Melanie WETMORE, 54 years old of Ottawa was issued a summons for race a motor vehicle, excessive speed and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on June 21, 2019,
