RENFREW COUNTY (Renfrew) — The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated 330 calls for service.
Domestic Violence
Arnprior and Renfrew officers investigated nine domestic disputes during the past week. One accused charged with assault and fail to comply with undertaking.

Impaired Driving
On August 20, officers from the Renfrew OPP Detachment responded to an unwanted person call in the Town of Renfrew. As a result of the investigation Justin Smith, 33 years old, of Whitewater Region has been charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear to attend at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on September 4.
On August 24, officers from the Renfrew OPP Detachment responded to a traffic complaint in Horton Township. As a result of the investigation Ross Spence, 55 years old, of Montague Township has been charged with impaired driving and operating a motor vehicle with over 80mg of alcohol. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear to attend at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on September 4.
Threats
On August 19, officers from the Renfrew OPP Detachment responded to a Break and Enter call in McNab/Braeside Township. As a result of the investigation a 17 year old accused, of McNab/Braeside Township has been charged with mischief under $5 thousand and fail to comply with conditions of an undertaking.
The accused was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on August 20. Further a 17 year old accused, of McNab/Braeside Township has been charged with uttering threats and knowledge of unauthorized possession of a weapon. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear to attend at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on October 2.
Fraud
The Renfrew OPP would like to remind the public to be cautious when sending etransfers or providing money for a purchase online, before you have received the goods purchased. There are scams that request money before the items are received and then never send the item. If you are purchasing items online make sure that it is through a reputable source or provide the money on receipt of the item.
