RENFREW COUNTY (Renfrew) — The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated 228 calls for service.

Domestic Violence
Arnprior and Renfrew officers investigated nine domestic disputes during the past week.

  • One accused has been charged with assault and uttering threats,
  • One accused has been charged with assault,
  • One accused has been charged with harassment and fail to comply with undertaking,
  • One accused has been charged with uttering threats,
  • One accused has been charged with possession of a schedule one substance believed to be methamphetamine, criminal harassment and three counts of uttering threats.

Victim Services of Renfrew County is also available to provide emotional and practical assistance to people who have experienced domestic violence. Breach of Probation
On January 1, officers with the Renfrew OPP responded to an unwanted person call in the Town of Renfrew. As a result of an investigation Brittany Warren, 24 years old of Renfrew has been charged with two counts of fail to comply with probation order. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear to attend at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on January 22.

Drug Offences
On December 31, 2019 officers responded to traffic complaint in the Town of Arnprior. As a result of a traffic stop, Marcus Bisson, 44 years old of Arnprior has been charged with trafficking in schedule three substance believed to be mushrooms. The accused was released on an appearance notice to attend at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on January 22.  

Impaired Driving
On January 3, officers from the Renfrew OPP Detachment responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 17 in Horton Township. As a result of a vehicle stop, Ross Logan, 59 years old, of Ottawa has been charged with impaired driving and blood alcohol over 80. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear to attend at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on February 5.

Threats
On January 4, officers from the Renfrew OPP Detachment responded to a harassment call in the Town of Arnprior. As a result of an investigation Anthony DeFazio, 30 years old of Renfrew has been charged with failure to comply with judicial release, uttering threats, resist peace officer and two counts of fail to comply with probation order. The accused was held for a bail hearing on January 5. 

Traffic Enforcement
On January 3, an officer with the Renfrew OPP was conducting traffic enforcement on White Lake Road, in McNab/Braeside Township. As a result of a traffic stop Tara Flynn, 38 years old of McNab/Braeside Township was issued a summons to attend at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on February 21, for race a motor vehicle, excessive speed.
