RENFREW COUNTY (Renfrew) — The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated 244 calls for service.

Domestic Violence

Arnprior and Renfrew officers investigated 6 domestic disputes during the past week.

One accused was charged with three counts of mischief,

One accused was charged with two counts of fail to comply with undertaking.  

If you or someone you know is living in or involved in an abusive relationship help is available. Contact Bernadette McCann House 24/7 for support, advice or the safety of a shelter at 1-800-267-4930. The Women’s Sexual Assault Centre of Renfrew County is also available 24/7 for information and support at 1-800-663-3060. You could also attend the emergency department of any hospital in Renfrew County and ask to speak to a member of the Assault Response Team. Victim Services of Renfrew County is also available to provide emotional and practical assistance to people who have experienced domestic violence. They can be reached at 613-649-2852 or toll free at 1-877-568-5730. In emergencies call 9-1-1.

Assault

On June 20, 2019 officers with the Renfrew OPP responded to a 911 call at a residence in the Town of Renfrew. As a result of an investigation Taylor BAHM, 20 years old, of McNab/Braeside Township has been charged with; fail to comply with probation order, resist a peace officer and two counts of assault a peace officer. The accused was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on June 21, 2019.

Bail Violations

On June 21, 2019 officers responded at a disturb the peace call in the Town of Arnprior. As a result of an investigation, Joshua GOURLAY, 34 years old, of Arnprior has been charged with two counts of fail to comply with probation order. The accused was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on June 22, 2019.

Fire

On June 22, 2019 officers with the Renfrew OPP responded to a structure fire in the Town of Arnprior. The Arnprior Fire Department attended along with Renfrew County Paramedics. The structure fire was contained by the fire crew and no injuries were obtained.     

Impaired Driving

On June 21, 2019 officers from the Renfrew OPP Detachment responded to a traffic complaint in McNab/Braeside Township. As a result of a traffic stop Aidan ROBERTSON, 21 years old, of Ottawa has been charged with impaired driving and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. The accused was released on a promise to appear and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on July 17, 2019.

Marine

The Renfrew OPP marine officers are patrolling our local waterways and would like to remind the public to have all the safety equipment required on your vessel. Please check the transport Canada website www.tc.gc.ca/boatingsafety to confirm what safety equipment is required for the vessel you are operating.
