RENFREW COUNTY (Renfrew) — The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated 203 calls for service.

Domestic Violence
Arnprior and Renfrew officers investigated seven domestic disputes during the past week. One accused has been charged with mischief, assault with a weapon, criminal harassment and three counts of assault,

The Women’s Sexual Assault Centre of Renfrew County is also available 24/7 for information and support at 1-800-663-3060. You could also attend the emergency department of any hospital in Renfrew County and ask to speak to a member of the Assault Response Team. Victim Services of Renfrew County is also available to provide emotional and practical assistance to people who have experienced domestic violence. Bail Violations
On June 8, officers with the Renfrew OPP responded to an unwanted person call on Raglan Street South, in Town of Renfrew. As a result of an investigation, Anthony Defazio, 30 years old of Renfrew, has been charged with two counts of fail to comply with probation order.  The accused was released on an Undertaking to attend at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on August 19, 2020. 

Indecent Act 
On June 10, officers with the Renfrew OPP responded to an indecent act call in Greater Madawaska Township. As a result of an investigation, Marilyn Sowa, 58 years old of Greater Madawaska Township, has been charged with three counts of indecent act. The accused was released on an undertaking to attend at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on August 19, 2020.

Drive Disqualified
On June 14, an officer with the Renfrew OPP was conducting traffic enforcement in the Town of Renfrew. As a result of a traffic stop, Christopher Bacon, 61 years old of Renfrew, has been charged with operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code of Canada. The accused was released on an undertaking to attend at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on September 16, 2020.

Drugs
On June 12, officers with the Renfrew OPP responded to a call for service in the Town of Renfrew. As a result of an investigation, Kyle Gilmore, 41 years old of Renfrew, has been charged with possession of a schedule one substance believed to be methamphetamine. The accused was released on an undertaking to attend at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on August 19, 2020.

Weapons
On June 8, officers with the Renfrew OPP responded to a harassment call on Maloney Road in the Town of Renfrew. As a result of an investigation, Brian Barr, 54 years old of Renfrew, has been charged with pointing a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, uttering threats, assault with a weapon, and unauthorized possession of a firearm. The accused was released on an undertaking to attend at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on August 19.
