WHITEWATER REGION (Cobden) — The Public Works department for the Township of Whitewater Region will be hard at work this summer. A motion was carried on Wednesday last week, when the Council of the Township of Whitewater Region discussed three roads which are to be returned to a gravel surface.

The Region will direct staff to return the road surface to gravel from surface treatment on the following municipal roads due to their deteriorated condition.

The roads which will be returning to gravel are Garden of Eden Road from Orin Road to Civic Address 2289, Sturgeon Mountain Road from Zion Line to Beachburg Road (County Road 21) and Sarah Priscilla Drive from Provincial Highway 17 to dead end.

Alternately, the Township will be returning the surface to gravel from the existing double surface treatment for approximately 4.8 km of the total 5.8 km of Olmstead-Jeffrey Lake Road. The funds will be taken from OCIF funding, as approved in the 2019 capital budget.
