Robbery investigation sees accused parties arrested, charged

RENFREW COUNTY (Renfrew) — On December 16, 2019 at approximately 11:30 p.m., officers with the Renfrew Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an unwanted person call on Campbell Drive in the Township of McNab/Braeside. The investigation revealed that a robbery had earlier occurred at a residence on Russett Drive in McNab/Braeside Township.  

As a result of the investigation, Kyle Dos Santos, 24 years old from Cassleman, Nikolas Sperotto, 24 years old from Russell, Michael Waldstein, 28 years old from McNab/Braeside and Dylan Zoobkoff, 27 years old from Arnprior, have been charged with the following;

  • Two counts of assault with a weapon section 267(a) Criminal Code of Canada (CC),
  • Two counts of assault causing bodily harm section 267(b) CC, 
  • One count robbery with a weapon section 344(1)(b) CC,
  • One count utter threats cause death or bodily harm section 264.1(1)(a) CC,
  • One count forcible confinement section 279(2) CC,
  • One count careless use of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition section 86(1) CC,
  • One count knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm section 92(1) CC,
  • One count occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was firearm section 94 CC,
  • One count possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking section 5(2) controlled drugs and substances act.

The accused parties were held for a bail hearing on December 17, 2019 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke. The investigation is continuing and further charges are pending.
