PEMBROKE — On Thursday, November 1, 2018 the Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) of the Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the OPP located a Pembroke man wanted on a bench warrant in relation to drug and weapons charges stemming from an incident in Pembroke from May. CSCU members located the male on Miller Street in Pembroke. The male fled on foot from police. He was located and arrested a short time later at a nearby residence.
As a result, 39-year-old Dion Ranger is charged with the following Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) and Criminal Code (CC) charges: Possession of a schedule I substance – methamphetamine; Fail to comply with undertaking; and Fail to attend court.
He also faces the following outstanding CDSA and CC charges from May in Pembroke: Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose; Unauthorized possession of a weapon; Possession of a weapon contrary to a prohibition order – two counts; Possession of a schedule I substance – hydromorphone.
He was held for a bail hearing and remains in custody.
