Whitewater Region firefighters and tankers from all five fire stations responded to the call of the burning shop/garage around 5 p.m. Tuesday. When firefighters arrived heavy, black smoke was coming from inside the steel building. Mr. Wright safely moved a grain hauler from beside the burning building. Neighbour David McGonegal was able to lift the large shop door open with the front end loaded of a tractor. The fire was quickly knocked down, Chief Wayne Heubner said. There is more water and smoke damage than anything else, he said. The tractor and grain drill were not damaged, but will need some clean-up. It`s believed a battery charger connected to a four-wheeler is the cause of the fire. The four-wheeler was completely destroyed. The shop is located on Mr. Wright’s farm on the Beachburg Road about seven kilometres west of Beachburg.
