PEMBROKE — The Upper Ottawa Valley Chamber of Commerce (UOVCC) is hosting a seminar on Thursday July 26th, at 6 p.m. for those people who might be thinking about or just started a business or those with established businesses already. Many entrepreneurs struggle with choosing whether to be a sole proprietor or to incorporate.
The Education Committee of the UOVCC felt that this topic would be of importance to businesses and decided to get a panel of experts together to answer questions.
“We are pleased to have Fred Sinclair, CPA, CA from Dean Sinclair, Dwight Montgomery, Lawyer and Colleen Sutherland , Certified Financial Planner with Lifelong Financial Solutions as our panel of experts,” said Lorraine MacKenzie, Executive Director of the UOVCC. “They will help to answer questions such as what’s the difference between sole proprietorship and incorporation, what are the benefits of each type of ownership, what are day-to-day differences, what’s the difference between having part-time or full-time employees, what about hiring contractors. That is to name just a few of the areas they will cover.”
The cost for the seminar is free for Chamber Member Businesses and $10/person for non Chamber Member Businesses. It will take place in the auditorium of the Ottawa Valley Health & Wellness Centre, 315 Pembroke Street, Pembroke (the old Algonquin College building).
