COBDEN — It’s a busy weekend at the Cobden Fair.
There’s a full schedule of events with fun for everyone.
All Weekend the gates and exhibit hall open at 9:30 a.m. with free children’s activities from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Each day, the midway opens at noon and there will be rabbit agility shows at 3 p.m. and a petting farm.
Home cooked meals will be served inside the ag hall from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. There will be crafters and vendors inside the arena throughout the weekend.
New this year is the FUNtasy Pony rides on Sunday. These adorable ponies are propelled by kids bouncing up and down to get them moving.
Also new is the first Duck and Goose Calling Contest on Saturday and Sunday. Hosted by Lachance Fields to Stream, proceeds will support the CHEO Foundation. Call 613-639-5627 to pre-register.
On Sunday, the Gym Masters Circus, which is also new to the Cobden Fair schedule, will perform.
All rides, all shows, pay just one price to enter! Great savings, excellent fun for the whole family! $15 per person – Friday, Saturday; $12.50 per person – Sunday.
On Friday, there will be the 4-H Rabbit Show, Renfrew County Holstein Breeder’s Show, Horse Draw, Dennis Harrington & Friends, The Town Liners, Pine Road (Bluegrass) and the Riley New Band – Dance in Ag Hall.
Saturday’s schedule includes a horse shoe tournament, 4-H Sheep Show and the Open Sheep Show, Pet Show, Leahy Cousins & Gibson Girls, 4-H Dairy Show, Herwig Family, Kelli Trottier and a dog agility show.
The Car and and Combine Demolition Derbies are Saturday night.
Enjoy a pancake breakfast to start Sunday off with the schedule including the Heavy and Miniature Horse Shows, 4-H Beef Show, Ecumenical Church Service, the Open Beef Show, Rick Leben the Gym Masters Circus and Tracy Brown / Randall Prescott / Hugh Scott and Flashback.
The 4-H Achievement Day Program is open to enrolled members of the following 4-H Clubs: Cobden Dairy Club, Cobden High Kickers Sheep Club, Upper Ottawa Valley Sheep Club and the Renfrew County Rabbit Club.
4-H Class 3 Achievement Rabbits Show will be held on Friday, August 28 at 4 p.m. followed by the inter-club show.
The 4-H Class 2 Achievement Sheep Show will be held on Saturday, August 29th at 9 a.m. followed by the inter-club show.
The 4-H Dairy Achievement Show will be begin an hour later at 10 a.m. followed by the inter-club show.
4-H Beef Club Competition and the 4-H Beef Inter-Club Show will be held on Sunday, August 30 at 10 a.m.
The Renfrew County Holstein Breeders’ Show will be held on Friday, August 28 at 6:45 p.m.
The sheep Show will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 1 p.m.
The Beef Show will be held on Sunday, August 30, at 1 p.m.
The Heavy Horse and Miniature Horse Show Program will begin on Sunday, August 30, at 9:30 a.m.
