RENFREW COUNTY (Pembroke) — The Pembroke Regional Hospital helped to ensure families and loved ones remained connected with those in the hospital on special occasions, such as Mother’s Day.
“Mother’s Day is an important day to show our love and appreciation for the mothers and mother figures in our lives. This year, with the ongoing efforts to combat COVID-19, Mother’s Day will be unlike any other,” said Sabine Mersmann, Vice-President of Clinical and Support Services/Partnerships and Integration. “Our hospital will be working to ensure families and loved ones will still be able to share messages of love and support with the mothers in their lives while maintaining visitor restrictions.”
The Pembroke Regional Hospital accepted gifts for inpatients on May 10 which were dropped off to screeners at the Emergency Department entrance. The items accepted were new or freshly laundered clothes, packaged items such as chocolates, plants and non-scented flowers, and other items so long as they can be disinfected with hospital grade disinfectant. Gifts were thoroughly wiped down and disinfected before being delivered to the inpatient units. People were asked to have the patient’s name clearly identified on the package and maintain appropriate physical distance when delivering the item at the entrance.
