RENFREW COUNTY (Pembroke) — Enterprise Renfrew County is now accepting applications for Starter Company Plus, a program funded by the Government of Ontario that will support entrepreneurs wishing to start, expand or purchase an existing business in the County of Renfrew.
The program objective’s will serve entrepreneurship programming needs of Ontarians, aged 18 and older, align with local and/or regional needs and opportunities related to small business, generate economic results through business creation and expansion and support and strengthen Ontario communities.
Through the Starter Company Plus Program participants will receive: guidance and support from Enterprise Renfrew County staff, business training that will focus on business planning fundamentals, cash flow, operations and marketing. Participants will also benefit from mentoring by experienced local entrepreneurs, learning from those who have successfully started and operated businesses in the County. For the leading entrepreneurial business plans, there is an opportunity to submit a separate application into a competitive process where they could be awarded a grant of up to $5,000 to operate their business.
Colleen Sadler, Enterprise Renfrew County Business Consultant, explains “the main focus of this program is to provide entrepreneurs with training and mentoring they require to succeed in business. The Starter Company Plus Program is a highly competitive program with limited spaces available; therefore we encourage entrepreneurs to contact us at the earliest opportunity.”
Interested entrepreneurs are invited to visit Enterprise Renfrew County’s website and submit an application. Applications are being accepted until September 29 and they must choose and attend a mandatory information session either on Monday October 7 or Wednesday October 9, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (noon) at the County Administration Building, 9 International Drive in Pembroke, Ontario.
