David Marshall Bennett of Renfrew received the 2015 Member of Parliament Commendation due to selfless acts of generosity and dedication to benefit Horton Township.
The Community Centre was built in a large part with his company’s resources, to which he donated the time and equipment to for the completion of upgrades to the Community Centre.
Clay Dawdy of Calabogie received the 2015 Member of Parliament Commendation due to dedication and commitment to the Adaptive Ski Program and Snowboarding Program.
The Adaptive Ski Program and Snowboarding mission is to enrich the lives of persons living with disability through adaptive skiing and snowboarding.
Mr. Dowdy seeks to enrich the lives of injured soldiers, by organizing winter sports clinics for injured soldiers and veterans, including their spouses.
Blanche Ducey of Pembroke received the 2015 Member of Parliament Commendation due to her creation of the thrift store “Got you in Mind.”
Ms. Ducey’s store offers a lending ear to people who have fallen on hard times. She often prepares bagged lunches and personally distributes to the needy.
She wants those in need to know that someone cares about them. She encourages them to not give up.
Gwen Greenstock of Petawawa received the 2015 Member of Parliament Commendation due to your ingenuity and creativity in the launch of a newly designed 5th Avenue Jewellery Pin of which the proceeds go toward the national charity “True Patriot Love”
Kathy Haycock of Eganville received the 2015 Member of Parliament Commendation due to your contribution and talented artwork entitled “Dreams Come True” for the 2014 Renfrew Victoria Hospital Tree of Lights Campaign.
Jean Maves of Pembroke received the 2015 Member of Parliament Commendation due to dedication and strength and being a strong voice for all women.
Ms. Maves vigorously advocates for survivors of sexual violence. She also sponsored three Iranian women refugees, by swimming across the Ottawa River, and raised more than $2,000 for the Upper Valley Refugee Fund.
Ms. Maves is a woman of courage and resolve.
Stuart Nicholson of Horton Township (Renfrew) received the 2015 Member of Parliament Commendation due to his selfless acts of kindless toward others.
He puts aside his own personal commitments to volunteer his time to Castleford United Church, Carp Fair, Food Grains Project, the Pakenham Curing Club, the Horton Community Centre, Shawville Cemetery, the annual Blue Grass Festival in Horton.
Mr. Nicholson is a most humble, unrecognized gentleman who performs many good works.
Judith Ritchie of Pembroke received the 2015 Member of Parliament Commendation due to your selfless act of cutting your hair to raise money for cancer.
Judith is proof that a soon to be“10” year old can make a difference. She rallied friends, family and schoolmates to help her raise $1,212.00 to beat cancer. Inspired by the death of her grandfather, she set up a fundraising page on the Canadian Cancer Society Website.
