Thief quickly arrested by the OPP

RENFREW COUNTY (Pembroke) — On Thursday November 28 at approximately 7:40 a.m., members of the Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a theft in progress on Miller Street in the City of Pembroke after an unknown person on foot was observed stealing from unlocked vehicles on the street. 

Responding officers located the subject in the area and safely took the person into custody without further incident. Stolen property was recovered from the individual.

As a result of this incident 28 year old Jamie Wallace of Pembroke has been charged with the following Criminal Code (CC) offences:

  • Theft under $5000 from a motor vehicle
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 – two counts

The accused was released on a promise to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on December 17. 

The OPP would like to remind everyone to remove valuables from their vehicles and to lock the vehicle. Lock it or lose it!
