To remain healthy, doctors are needed

Dear Editor:
In response to “Keeping the over-40 male body bumper-to-bumper healthy” published in the Dec. 8 edition of Whitewater News, via the Men’s Health Forum co-ordinator Phil Cottrell and Dr. Kristian Davis, it is encouraging to have health care being talked about. To continue with the thought of staying healthy, we need to go to the next step.
It is easier to stay on track if one has a doctor to visit when the need is there. Doctors, too, are aging and they are retiring.
There are residents living with ailments and are currently without a doctor. What is the availability of new doctor’s coming to practice in the area? Do we know if there will be a clinic starting up; will there be private practices?
There are trained nurses in the Ottawa hospitals who are losing their jobs. Can we be proactive and utilize their expertise in the Renfrew vicinity where there appears to be a shortage of Doctors.
