The Council moved to pass the by-law for vaccine policies in Township offices.

Councillor McLaughlin said “The vaccine is free. I feel that if you have documentation saying you can’t take the vaccine we can accommodate that. I want it broke into two pieces; I’m totally in favour for the vaccination. I’m totally opposed to paying for the test.”

Mayor Moore Said. “I had one very irate call saying “what right do we have?” and I’ll leave that at that.”

Councillor Jackson moved to amend the bylaw to only cover the costs of testing for those who require an accommodation.

Councillor Nicholson asked if there was a cost for the test, which CAO said that they were “trying to secure supply” and narrow the scope down as to what kinds of tests were needed.

The amendment passed 4-2.

The bylaw was carried as amended.
