WHITEWATER REGION (Cobden) — This year there will be the car and combine demolition derbies at the Cobden Fair.
Each year, the stands are packed as people come to watch the outstanding performances of the many drivers.
This year’s derbies are Saturday evening, Aug. 26 with the first cars starting in the pit at 7 p.m.
The cars and combines will be arriving throughout the afternoon.
For those who want to register a derby vehicle, the cost is $60. Each car will be inspected prior to going into the pit.

Animal Shows
This year, as in previous years, check out the 4H participants who will be in the show ring in the Astrolabe Arena with their various projects.
These projects include beef cattle, dairy cattle, sheep and rabbits.
There will also be various projects inside the exhibit hall (curling rink) as part of the Lifestyle Exhibits for 4H participants.
This year’s horse draw event is Friday evening, Aug. 25 starting at 7 p.m.
The annual pet show will also be featured this year. It is at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 26.
The Heavy and Miniature Horse shows will be held on Sunday, Aug. 27 starting at 9:30 a.m.
Advance Tickets
Remember to purchase your advance tickets for this year’s Cobden Fair at a cost savings of $3.
Advance tickets for Friday and Saturday are $16 and can be purchased at Cobden Agricultural Hall, Rooney’s Convenience and Gas Store and Scotiabank Cobden. Tickets at the gate for Friday and Saturday will be $19 and Sunday is $16.
The tickets are pay one price, which includes everything except games and food. Come on out for a fun time at this year’s Cobden Fair.
