Four drivers learned the hard way that stunt driving charges lead to on-the-spot licence suspensions and a one week impoundment of the vehicle they were driving.

Three of the stunt driving charges related to speeding of 50 km or more above the posted speed limit while one driver was performing a stunt, doing a catwalk with a motorcycle on Madawaska Boulevard, in Arnprior on Tuesday, September 18.

Joseph Villeneuve, aged 49, of Ottawa, had the motorcycle he was driving impounded and was issued a summons for traffic court in Renfrew on Friday, October 26. PC Kyle Brown investigated.

Cynthia Dodds, aged 56 of Arnprior, was also issued a summons for traffic court on Friday, Oct. 26, after she was stopped for speeding more than 50 km above the posted limit on Highway 417 near Arnprior, also on Tuesday,, Sept. 18. Sgt. Derek McLeod led the investigation.

On Saturday, September 22, shortly before 1 a.m., a stunt driver was stopped and had been drinking. PC Erin Densmore stopped the vehicle on Highway 17 in Horton Township. After failing a roadside alcohol screening test the female driver was arrested. Following further breath tests at the detachment, Cheyenne Russell, aged 42 of Bonnechere Valley Township, was charged with impaired driving, driving over 80mgs and stunt driving. She was released on a promise to appear in court in Renfrew on Wednesday, October 10.
