FORESTER’S FALLS – The Ross Museum may have closed its doors in the pandemic, but that hasn’t stopped their need for new members, with their June 12th Plant sidewalk sale at the Forester’s Falls museum contributing to the continued maintenance of their exhibits.
“People come by, they can take what they want and they donate to the society.” said Janis Tomkinson, secretary for the Whitewater Historical Society, who helps maintain the museum with support from the Township. “Everything is purchased by donation.”
The sale resulted in $1,367.90 in donations, as well as eight new memberships to the Whitewater Historical Society and their nearly two thousand exhibits on the region’s history.
“This is a treasure trove of historical antiques.” said Lawrie Barton, head of the historical Society, which began in 1988 has the Ross Historical Society, after then-Ross Township.

Tomkinson said that this was the only fundraising event this year. “We were closed last year as well, but we hope to open in the coming year.” she said.
