Team manager Jamie McConnell noted there has been a coaching change, with Tony Iob taking over from Daryl Faught.
“Tony comes with a wealth of experience,” he said, “He was the Navan coach last seson and he’s not coaching this year.
“We needed a different voice in the dressing room to get the guys motivated.”
Former coach Faught lacked the time to fully commit himself to the team this year, McConnell said.
“Daryl did a great job.”
He also noted that Chad Moore was traded to Renfrew and the Kings signed on Tommy Cahill, Cameron Mulholland and goalie Cameron Iob. However, Iob won’t be between the pipes for a while as he is in Austria.
Cahill “needed a place to play hockey,” so the Kings took him on.
“He’s a big man, hopefully he’ll make a difference for us,” McConnell said.
While the Kings don’t have the best record for this year, with only two wins under their skates, McConnell said, “We believe in this group of players.”
In upcoming games, he noted Sunday, Dec. 9 is IP Day and the Muskrat IPs will be on ice between periods. As well, any minor hockey player that wears their jersey to a Sunday game will get in for $2.
