UPDATE*****
A 19-year-old Whitewater Region Township resident has been charged in the violent incident involving an elderly Beachburg woman that happened on Nov. 16
Around 10 o’clock that night, the Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the OPP was advised that a break enter and robbery with violence had occurred at a Beachburg home.
It was reported the victim answered the door, and a male forced his way into the residence and assaulted the elderly female resident. The victim was transported to hospital.
Members of the Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment, as well as the Upper Ottawa Valley Crime Unit, ERT, K9 and Identification Unit attended the scene to investigate.
As a result of the investigation Codie Dufault of Whitewater Township has been charged with the following:
Disguise with Intent • Uttering Threats – Cause death or Bodily Harm • Assault • Forcible Confinement • Fail to Comply with Probation Order • Firearm – Use while committing offence • Robbery with Intent • Break, Enter dwelling house – commit indictable offence • Fail to Comply with Conditions of Undertaking Given by Officer in Charge contrary to the Criminal Code.
