Greetings from the Women’s Institute for the District of North Renfrew. The following branch is reporting on their meeting for Feb. 2022.

Greenwood: Members met for their Feb. meeting via Zoom.
Virtual Bingo was played and several members won prizes that had been donated by the convenors Kathy Bennett and Sheila Kenny.
The business
portion of the meeting opened with President Sheila Kenny doing the Institute Ode, and Kathy Bennett doing the Mary Stewart Collect. Minutes from the previous meeting were read by Secretary Kathy Bennett, who also gave the Treasurer’s Report.
The Roll Call was “How did you celebrate Valentines, or do you have plans for Family Day”? Some members received chocolates for Valentine’s Day, some received roses, some made special cakes and entertained friends. Kathy Bennett advised that there would be special activities for Family Day at the Alice & Fraser Ski Hill, and also skating on the Laurentian Valley trail. The Motto for this meeting was “A penny saved is a penny earned”. Pennies were 25 cents if you didn’t do anything for either day and 10 cents if you did.
Kathy Bennett advised she would be taking part in The Coldest Night Of The Year walk.

Several members will sponsor Kathy for this event. All money raised goes to The Grind in Pembroke.

Members hope to meet in person for the March meeting. The convenors for this meeting will be Gail Fletcher and Carole Whitmore.
