The W.I. District Directors for the North Renfrew District met on May 4th and Routh Douma chaired the meeting.

Judy Bohn has agreed to make up the program for the District Annual in June. Forester’s Falls branch has suggested that the quilt tickets not start until Jan. of 2023. This way, the District will have a full year in order to sell tickets instead of just a few months. The Beachburg and Cobden Fairs will be taking place this year and it is hoped that the branches can show their displays at the Fairs.

The District Annual will be hosted by the Greenwood branch on June 7th, 2022 at the Greenwood United Church. The cost is $10.00 and Registration will be at 5:30 P.M. with supper from 6-7 P.M.

The Theme this year is “125th Anniversary”. Roll Call is “Add up the number of years you have been a W.I. member including all members”. Ruth Douma will invite some members of South Renfrew to the District Annual.

Ruth Douma brought forth a request from a new W.I. member. Wendy Hallock is volunteering at Our Lady of Grace School in Westmeath teaching grades 1, 2, 6 and 7 about the necessities of gardening. She is incorporating the victory gardens, planting, propagating, etc. She is looking for soil for the box gardens and/or plots they have made and are making. A motion was passed that the District give Wendy $100.00 towards purchasing soil for the gardens.

                                                                                           Submitted by Elaine Hennessy.
