Year One for whitewaternews.ca comes to a close

The Township of Whitewater Region was expected to pass its 2015 budgets — water, sewer and regular — during a special council meeting last night.
However, due to the editor leaving very early this morning (Thursday) for a few days away, the story on the budget will not be published until next week.
While I could have written a partial story, I did not think that was fair to council or our readers. I will have details of what’s in the budget and what it means to your pocketbooks in next week’s edition.
Just a reminder, you can watch council and committee meetings on the Internet by going to the township’s web site the day after a meeting.
You can also call a council member and ask them what happened.
As the editor of whitewaternews.ca, I apologize for this delay, but being the only writer for this paper, it will happen once in a while.
I encourage our readers to submit stories and photos. Or, if you prefer, call me or email me with story and photo ideas.
I may not be able to do them right away, but they will be done. There are many untold stories … and I want to share them with our readers.
This is the final issue of Year One of whitewaternews.ca.
Let’s see what Year Two holds for our community newspaper, its advertisers and readers.
