4-year-old boy killed in car crash near Pembroke

RENFREW COUNTY (Pembroke) — Members of the Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are continuing to investigate a serious crash on Forest Lea Road, in Laurentian Valley Township.

The two vehicle collision happened at approximately 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 27, 2019. A car was travelling on Forest Lea Road when it collided with another car as it was entering the roadway.

A total of five people were in the vehicles. William Jones, aged 4 of Laurentian Hills, Ontario succumbed to his injuries in hospital.

An OPP East Region Collision Reconstructionist and Technical Collision Investigators are assisting with the investigation. Forest Lea Road was closed for an extended period of time, while investigators worked at the scene.

The investigation is still ongoing.
