FORESTERS FALLS — The dark corner that is the intersection of Grants Settlement and Fletcher roads is no more.
Now, it’s the bright lights of the big city but off a country road. That was the case Saturday night, Nov 29th when Whitewater Brewery rolled out (really, poured out) its new seasonal brew, Jack Frost, with a splash.
To make it a memorable event, Brewery owners, Chris and Chris Thompson brought in Jason Daley to make the splash a big one. Jason is an Ottawa bar owner, sales director for Whitewater Village, partner in HorseCountry Campground and head of Start Up Ottawa, an entrepreneurs club. Burlesque and donuts are not a pairing that immediately comes to mind, but it sure worked Saturday night.
The donuts proved to be a tasty dessert after the Brewery Pub fair. They were fried on the spot and served hot with ice cream, chocolate sauce and candy sprinkles.
The Burlesque was entertaining with four ladies pleasing the crowd with fancy moves, feathers and fans. It wasn’t x-rated but racy enough to generate loud applause.
Whitewater Brewery is a great new business for our area — let’s all support them. There are various events scheduled throughout the winter months, including trivia each Sunday night.
