RENFREW COUNTY (Pembroke) — Cheryl Gallant, M.P. for Renfrew—Nipissing—Pembroke, is calling on local business and not-for-profit organizations to submit their applications for the Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) Program summer 2020 intake.
“The Canada Summer Jobs program provides employers the chance to create much-needed summer job opportunities for young Canadians, while strengthening our local economies and communities,” said MP Gallant. “These summer jobs allow for youth to gain experience, learn new skills, and make connections with the business community.”
Funding opportunities are available to all not-for-profit organizations, public-sector employers and small businesses with less than 50 staff. Applicants must create summer job opportunities for young people aged 15 to 30 years. The Trudeau Liberals have narrowed the focus for applicants this year which puts organizations, including those that support our seniors and tradespeople, at a disadvantage when applying for funding.
“I am working to ensure that all applicants receive a fair chance at being granted funding, despite the restrictions the Liberals have imposed,” added MP Gallant.
The Canada Summer Jobs program application period began on January 30 and applications will only be accepted until February 24. Applicants can apply online, in person at any Service Canada, or by mail.
