The Pembroke Petawawa District Community Foundation (PPDCF) is now launching their annual granting process. Eligible registered charitable applicants are invited to submit full applications due by March 31, 2022, a new streamlined one-step process.

Eligible organizations can apply for up to $10,000 through the General Grant. The PPDCF Grant is used to support needs in the community. The Bereavement Grant is used in connection with the community’s bereavement initiatives.

Organizations applying for funds must have a charitable number, or be a qualified donee as recognized through the Canada Revenue Agency. Application forms are now available on the website at: www.givingthatgrows.com

“ Our annual grants tend to cover expenses that organizations can’t get covered by other grants. It’s amazing how impactful these grants can be for the benefit of many in our community,”
explains Matt Bradley, Chair of the Pembroke Petawawa District Community Foundation.

The grants are made possible through the investment of funds which earn interest throughout the year. The principle of these funds is not touched, so that every year they can continue to generate grants for the community. Individuals who have endowment funds with the Foundation also have the opportunity to direct their funds to assist with specific community causes.

Grant recipients from past years include Petawawa Public Library, Community Resource Centre Inc. (Killaloe), Eganville & District Senior Needs Association, Pflag Canada-Renfrew County, The Circle of Turtle Lodge, Watersheds Canada, St. Vincent de Paul’s-Saint Columbkille Food Bank, Teen Challenge Canada-Ottawa Valley Men’s Centre, Bonnechere Arts & Historical Society, Arnprior and District Humane Society, Big Brothers Big Sisters-Renfrew County, Arnprior-Braeside-McNab Seniors at Home Program Inc. (Bereavement Grant).

The Pembroke Petawawa District Community Foundation is a public foundation which benefits the community by providing funds to charities, local groups and organizations that are also registered under the Income Tax Act. It is one of more than 191 Community Foundations in Canada. The Foundation was established in 2008 and has a mandate to invest and manage charitable funds for projects, causes and other community organizations. Proceeds are distributed to meet the community’s greatest needs.
