The Council adopted the regular minutes of February 3rd , and the motion was carried.

The Closed Session minutes were also approved.

Correspondence was received for the Ontario Winter Games Introduction, a Hydro One wood Pole Replacement Program, Universal Paid Sick Days from the City of St. Catharines, and Home Based Foods Businesses From the Minister of Agriculture Food and Rural Affairs.

Councillor Nicholson said he would like to put a motion of approval for Universal Paid Sick Days from the City of St. Catherines.

The motions were all carried.

Reeve Regier advised that the Cobden Astrolabe Arena would “be hosting the ringette.”

“It’s going to be a huge economic driver.” She said. “It’s going to be hosted over two weekends.”

Councillor Jackson expressed confusion on the funding aspect and who was consulted, and what the municipalities would load, and what Whitewater Region would have to front in terms of cost.

CAO Trembley said that there had been “only high-level conversations”. And that as as the deal was finalized more details would come.

Councillor Nicholson asked if there was any way to submit bids, and CAO Trembley reiterated they are only in ‘high level discussions.”
