WHITEWATER REGION — A long-time employee of Whitewater Region may have died more than a year ago, but she is not forgotten.

Patsy Moore, who had been employed for more than 25 years with the township, died on March 1, 2017, after losing a long battle with cancer.

Councillor Daryl McLaughlin is participating in the Relay for Life in Pembroke on Friday, June 22. He was asked to participate and will, he said at last night’s council meeting. He said $50 from the councillors’ fund he has been allotted will go towards the funding.

“It’s a great cause and I’m going mostly in memory of one of our employees,” he said.

He asked if other council members would make a donation to honour the former employee.

Council members who are pledged $50 in memory of this employee from their fund are Councillors Charlene Jackson and Dave Mackay and Mayor Hal Johnson.
