Take Notice that the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Whitewater Region passed municipal-wide development charges By-law No. 21-05-1382 on the 5th day of May, 2021 under section 2 (1) of the Development Charges Act, 1997, S.O., 1997 c. 27, as amended;
And Take Notice that any person or organization may appeal to the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal under section 14 of the Act, in respect of the development charges by-law, by filing with the Clerk of the Corporation of the Township of Whitewater Region on or before the 14th day of June, 2021 a notice of appeal setting out the objection to the by-law and the reasons supporting the objection.
Development charges help to recover the infrastructure costs associated with new residential and non-residential (commercial/ industrial) growth within the township. A Development Charge applies to new construction only. A development charge is not applied to existing housing, businesses, or structures.
The schedule of development charges imposed by the by-law, which shall come into effect on July 1, 2021, is as follows:
