It’s the start of a new season for hockey and ringette players.
They’ve worked hard throughout the summer months to ensure they stay in shape for the upcoming season.
Each day they play, there are fans in the stands. Usually it’s siblings, parents, grandparents.
But there are oh so many other people who could be cheering them on.
Instead of sitting at home watching a television show, or lounging around wondering what to do, why not get to one of three arenas in Whitewater Region and cheer on the players. There has to be a game or practice going on in at least one, if not all three, of them.
You don’t have to cheer on a certain player. You can cheer on the whole team or the player wearing your favourite number.
But, if you don’t want to get out of the house to cheer on hockey or ringette players, just remember that Fall arrives on Monday. Mother Nature will be using her special crayons to colour our little area of the country in fall beauty.
Who doesn’t enjoy seeing the colours? People take bus tours and road trips just to see the fall beauty.
We’re fortunate here in that we just have to step out of our houses and take a walk around the block.
These are just two ways of ensuring you get out of the house throughout the colder months of our Canadian fall and winter.
It’s so easy to get into the habit of curling up on the couch, turning on the television and mindlessly watching comedy after comedy, or drama after drama. Try something different this fall and join a group or take a walk or cheer on the area hockey and ringette players.
