The 19th annual Christmas Tea and Silent Auction was held at the Westmeath Community Hall Sunday afternoon, Nov. 18. There were 11 beautifully decorated tables for the festive event. Paula Troutman was emcee for the afternoon. While the hostesses served tea it was young people like Wyatt White who served the sandwiches and dessert platters. There was also a silent auction. Ms. Troutman noted the funds raised each year go towards various community events, and this year was no different. The money would be evenly split between Our Lady of Grace CWL Kitchen Renovation Fund, Our Lady of Grace Catholic School to benefit needy families of the area and the Westmeath District Recreation Association. Throughout the two-hour event, there was opportunity to socialize and eat; bid in the silent auction; listen to entertainer Sierra Levesque and hope your name was drawn for one of the many door prizes.
