The Pembroke Petawawa District Community Foundation (PPDCF) is now launching its regular granting process. Eligible registered charitable applicants are invited to submit letters of intent by February 28 with full applications due by March 14.
Eligible organizations can apply for up to $1,000 through the Foundation Grant or the Bereavement Grant. The Foundation Grant is used to support needs in the community. The Bereavement Grant is used in connection with bereavement initiatives. Application forms are now available on the website at: www.givingthatgrows.com
“Our annual granting process is a wonderful process and truly it is exciting to see what will be done with these resources,” explains Matt Bradley, Chair of the Pembroke Petawawa District Community Foundation. “It’s amazing how impactful these grants can be for the benefit of many in our community.”
The grants are made possible through the investment of funds which earn interest throughout the year. The principle of these funds is not touched, so that every year they can continue to generate grants for the community. Individuals who have endowment funds with the Foundation also have the opportunity to direct their funds to assist with community causes.
One of the most challenging parts of sustaining a charitable organization is the management of donated funds, this is where the PPDCF can be a strategic partner. Charities need to rely on the generosity of their community to help serve where they can.
The Pembroke Petawawa District Community Foundation is a public foundation which benefits the community by providing funds to charities, local groups and organizations that are also registered under the Income Tax Act. It is one of more than 191 Community Foundations in Canada. The Foundation was established in 2008 and has a mandate to invest and manage charitable funds for projects, causes and other community organizations. Proceeds are distributed to meet the community’s greatest needs.
