WESTMEATH — On April 23rd at the Westmeath Hall, Dana Nicholson presented a Healthy Eating demo as a Westmeath and District Recreation Association fundraiser.
Over 20 people attended the event to watch Ms. Nicholson create a complete meal of natural foods (no sugars or preservatives) within 30 minutes. She is an Independent Consultant with Epicure. This is a company that unites and inspires each other to rally around clean eating. Epicure is dedicated to sharing delicious meal solutions that use only real, whole ingredients.
In that time, she had chicken with assorted vegetables, sprinkled with Epicure spices, cooked in the microwave oven. The main course included zoodles (strips of zucchini), salsa and a tossed salad with its own Epicure spice. The appetizers were homemade chips and tacos with avocado and assorted spiced dips. Desserts were yogurts with dips, the dips sprinkled with various fruit spices for different flavours.
Ms. Nicholson’s extra touches throughout her cooking demo were most appreciated, especially after samples were passed around the group. The responses ranged from “Delicious” and “How can I do that?”
