COBDEN — Spruce Ridge Equicentre is celebrating Horse Day and wants everyone to come out and have some fun.
Horse Day, which is Saturday, June 6, is a free, one-day, public event designed to educate people of all ages about horses and provide visitors with the opportunity to experience horses up close and personal, noted Martha Corker in a letter to Whitewater Region Mayor Hal Johnson.
Last year’s inaugural event was a great success and she expects the same this year.
The event is 9:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. at 20771 Highway 17, between Pembroke and Cobden.
Events include a riding demonstration by riders of all levels, parade of breeds, draws to meet the mini ponies, colouring stations, vendors with equestrian-themed gifts, displays by HorseCountry Campground (located near Foresters Falls) and M & R Feeds, hoof and woof with Cricket’s Agility Dogs, horse line dancing demonstration and a BBQ lunch as a fundraiser for the SPCA.
