COBDEN — An Admaston-Bromley Township author promoted her second book at the Cobden Farmers Market on Saturday.
Kimberly Stoppa recently released The Cricket’s Song, a Lullaby Tale from the Ottawa Valley
“It’s about a cricket who is singing everyone to sleep,” she said.
A writer for a long time, this is Ms. Stoppa’s second book. Her first was the first in a trilogy series titled Trouble at Willow Creek. It was released in 2005.
“The second one is in the works,” Ms. Stoppa said, adding, “Hopefully it’ll be ready by Christmas.”
She noted Pembroke residents Jackie Stewart and daughter Zoe O’Connor are the illustrators for The Cricket’s Song. She met Ms. O’Connor who introduced her to her mother, a tattoo artist.
While the $20 book has been available on Amazon since July 8, Ms. Stoppa is just now beginning to attend various events where she can promote the book, as well as sign autographs.
The first session was at the Cobden Farmers Market while the next session is scheduled for the Renfrew County Plowing Match, which is on Saturday, Sept. 19 at RobDot Farms, owned by Janet and Steven Edwards, at 191 Snake River Line, just outside of Cobden.
Ms. Stoppa said she can also mail people a copy for $3.50. To reach Ms. Stoppa, send her an email at [email protected].
