FORESTER’S FALLS – Maple Ridge Hollows’ Greenhouse, owned by James and Mary Bauman, opened for business with a variety of flowers and herbs this April, for its second year.

“We started it really for the family, and it it just kept growing.” Mary Bauman said.

Located at 1605 Kerr Line in Forester’s Falls, and open from 9am to 7pm Monday to Saturday, the advertisement offers “Hanging Baskets, Strawberry Baskets, Flower, Vegetable and Herb Bedding Plants, and Potting Soil.”

She said she sent the flyers out in the local mail, such as Cobden, Beachburg, and Eganville, about two week ago on April 16.

“I’ve been happy with the response to the flyers.” she said, saying they’ve received good business.

She said that they began heating the greenhouse in March, and typically run until business slows down.

“Once it gets too empty, or I get too busy, I’ll close it down.” she said. “A lot of people aim to plant their gardens in May 24th. I’m a scaredy cat, and wait until June 1st.”

The number for the greenhouse is 613-646-7618, and accepts “cash or cheque only”.
