Beaver Tails raised $1,937.20 in cash plus filled a trailer with donated food for the Cobden and Pembroke food banks during the Taste of the Valley in Cobden on Saturday.
In honour of World Food Day, which was Oct. 16, Beaver Tails agreed to give a cinnamon sugar beaver tail to anyone who donated food. In lieu of a donation, they could purchase a beaver tail.
There were more than 4,000 people who attended this year’s taste of the Valley that saw 115 vendors selling locally grown food and homemade goodies and crafts.
Mother Nature co-operated and organizers were quite happy with the sunshine-filled day and warm temperatures.
