High school student Cayla Hawthorne now has an idea of what her mother does at work, even though she only spent one day with her.
Marsha Hawthorne, treasurer for the Township of Whitewater Region, and her daughter participated in the Take Your Kid to Work day, which was held Wednesday. Nov. 4 and is only for students in Grade 9.
Cayla, 14 years old and a student at Bishop Smith Catholic High School in Pembroke had opportunity to sit in on a managers’ meeting. While she was not able to contribute to the discussion, she was able to provide technical ipad assistance to some staff.
Cayla also spent time doing account payable and treasury duties, her mom said.
