Municipalities transfer $47M to County of Renfrew

WHITEWATER REGION — The 17 municipalities who comprise the County of Renfrew will be transferring more than $47 million in taxes and payments-in-lieu to the upper-tier government. The Township of Whitewater Region’s contribution is nearly $3.3 million. 

Based on assessment, Petawawa leads the contribution with more than $8.5 million, of which $2.6 million is a payment-in-lieu contribution from Garrison Petawawa. Laurentian Valley will transfer nearly $5 million to the County of Renfrew, followed by Arnprior at just over $4 million. Total taxable assessment transfers are listed below and according to the County of Renfrew, total $47,253,904.

Arnprior contributes $4,033,981 or 8.5 per cent; Deep River contributes $2,174,208 or 4.6 per cent; Laurentian Hills contributes $1,716,841 or 3.6 per cent; Petawawa contributes $8,561,743 or 18.1 per cent; Renfrew contributes $3,264,753 or 6.9 per cent; Admaston Bromley contributes $1,309,232 or 2.8 per cent; Bonnechere Valley contributes $1,912,958 or 4.0 per cent; Brudenell, Lyndoch, Raglan contributes $891,688 or 1.9 per cent; Greater Madawaska contributes $3,015,847 or 6.4 per cent; Head, Clara, Maria contributes $870,993 or 1.8 per cent; Horton contributes $1,634,128 or 3.5 per cent; Killaloe, Hagarty, Richards contributes $1,376,691 or 2.9 per cent; Laurentian Valley contributes $4,934,587 or 10.4 per cent; Madawaska Valley contributes $2,893,890 or 6.1 per cent; Whitewater Region contributes $3,359,105 or 7.1 per cent; McNab-Braeside contributes $3,560,820 or 7.5 per cent; and North Algona Wilberforce contributes $1,742,439 or 3.7 per cent.
