TIEGS, Beatrice Gladys (nee Fleugel)

On September 18, 2022 Beatrice peacefully passed away at the age of 96.

She will be lovingly remembered & cherished forever by her son Barry (Marilyn) daughter Myra (George) adored and loved by her grandchildren Adam & Kristen (Tim) See. Beatrice was predeceased by her husband Wesley Tiegs of 48 years and husband Garnet Mundt of 7 years. Beatrice was born in Eganville on November 19, 1925 to the late Rudolph & Helene “Radke” Fleugel. Predeceased by her brother Billy, and sisters Esther, Florence & Della. Beatrice was received into holy baptism and thru the rite of confirmation at Grace Lutheran Church Eganville.

From 1940 to 1945 Beatrice worked for the Government of Canada in Army Records during World War 2. She returned home to Eganville and married Wesley Tiegs. Beatrice worked for many businesses, H Arthur Bimm Jewellery, Eganville Creamery testing lab, Clarence Moore Grocery & Lens Clothing Store. She became the Cafeteria Manager at Opeongo High School for 20 years. Beatrice was president for the Horticulture Society for 11 years. She loved planning events, tours and planting the gardens around the town. She was also a choir member of the Eganville Warblers for 10 years. But most of all she loved her commitment and faith of her Lord Jesus. She taught Sunday school, VBS, sang in many choirs as well as a soloist.

Beatrice helped with church suppers and socials, quilting and attending bible classes. As a pastime she loved gardening, especially flowers. Having been blessed with good health she travelled a very large part of the world with her husband, family and dear late friend Shirley Mintha.

Friends and family are welcome to celebrate mom’s life at Zohr Family Funeral Home, Renfrew on Thursday, September 29, 2022 from 11:30am until time of service in the Zohr Family Chapel at 1:00pm. A private family interment will be held at a later date.
